Cookie policy

Hereinafter we set out our intended purposes for the usage of cookies and similar technologies on our websites. Additionally we offer options for consent management to withdraw your consent at any time or to reject the usage.

What are cookies?

Cookies, and web storage technologies such as local storage and session storage (“cookies”), make your interaction on our sites easier and smoother – with no extra effort on your part. For example, they are small text files that are downloaded by your internet browser to your device when you visit our websites. While you interact with our websites, technologies from third-party providers such as scripts, pixels and tags, which we integrate on our websites for advertising purposes, also set cookies on your device. In the following sections, you will find information and specific details in the corresponding lists regarding what we use these technologies for, and how you can change your settings to suit your requirements.

What do you need to know about cookies?

Cookies help to provide a better and faster experience. A cookie is a small text file that stores Internet settings. Almost every website uses cookie technology. The cookie is downloaded by your internet browser the first time you visit a website. The next time you visit this website on the same device, the website that originally triggered the setting of the cookie then recognises that you have been here before, and in some cases, it tailors what appears on screen to take account of that fact. In this way, it can be made more relevant to your personal interests and needs.

First-party cookies

First-party cookies are cookies that we deploy on the website that you are currently visiting and those with which you will interact when you continue your journey on our websites.

Third-party cookies

Our websites may also contain content from other websites which may deploy their own cookies. These cookies are set by someone other than the owner of the website you’re visiting. Such third-party providers can set cookies while you are visiting our websites and thus receive information such as the fact that you have loaded one of our websites. Please visit the websites of third-party providers to obtain further information on how they use cookies. You can reject your consent to third-party cookies at any time by using the corresponding functionality on our website.

What happens if you reject cookies?

If you decide to reject cookies that require consent, we will accept your decision and not use such cookies. We will delete them whenever this is technically possible and if they are first-party cookies. This means, however, that in the case of functional cookies, you will not be able to take advantage of all the features and functionality of our websites. Similarly, it is possible for you to object to performance cookies. Doing this, however, it prevents us from being able to learn what you like or don’t like about our website so that we can make it better. Please note that we cannot delete third-party cookies. If you wish to delete all third-party cookies, you need do this in your browser settings. Please note that if you will reject the third-party cookies, this does not mean that you will see less advertising. It just means that the advertising you see will not be as customised to your needs.

Managing your browser’s cookies

You can control how your data is used on our website. We allow you to manage your cookies by either accepting or rejecting all cookies or accepting only certain types of cookies.

The procedure for managing and deleting cookies can also be found in your browser’s integrated help function. It is important to note that if you change your settings and block certain cookies, you might not be able to take full advantage of some features of our sites, and we might not be able to provide some content you have previously seen or used.

What cookies do we use?

Please check the cookie scan summary for our website here: Scan Summary - Cookieserve - evilspeed.eu

Web beacons: At times, we work with third-party service partners that employ web beacons (also known as pixel tags, clear GIFs, single pixel GIFs, or action tags) for our benefit to help us measure advertising effectiveness. Similar in function to cookies, they are used to track the online movements of our users. They are not tied to your Personally Identifiable Information and only track the visitor traffic and behavior to and on our Site.

They can "work with" existing cookies on a computer if they are both from the same website or advertising company. That means, for example, that if a person visited "www.companyX.com", which uses an advertising company's web beacon, the website would match the web beacon identifier and the advertising company's cookie ID number, to show the past online behavior for that computer. This collected information can be shared with the advertising company but such information never includes personally identifiable information.

A prime example (the one this Site uses) is the Facebook tracking pixel. It allows us to retarget messages on Facebook and find other people that might find our products interesting.

How do we use your personal information?

Device Information

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

In addition, device information can be used to provide you with targeted advertisements and marketing communications. For example:

After visiting our website, you notice an advertisement of "evilspeed" on Facebook a few days later.

You can learn more about Device Information and how we use it in the "what are cookies/log files/web beacons and how do we use them?" section below.

Order information

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud;
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. In our particular case, we use Stripe, PayPal or Luminor Payment initiation service (PIS) to process your payments. You can find Stripe privacy policy here: https://stripe.com/en-lt/privacy, PayPal here: https://www.paypal.com/lt/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full and Luminor here: https://www.luminor.lt/en/terms-conditions#luminor-e-commerce-gateway

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So, if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Europe and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

If you find this spooky - you're in good company. You can opt out of targeted advertising by using the links below:

Additionally, you can opt out of some of these services by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out portal at: http://optout.aboutads.info/.

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

How we ensure transaction security?

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment: If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. For more insight, you may also want to read Shopify’s Terms of Service (https://www.shopify.com/legal/terms) or Privacy Statement (https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy).

Additionally, to protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Data retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations (purchase records must be stored for 10 years to comply with local accounting standards), resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Your rights to your information

You have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted - if no other laws preventing us from doing so exist. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that due to our platform provider/data processor (Shopify) being located in the US your information will be transferred to servers located outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
