Faced with the imperative to increase sales and reduce production costs, Ferrari saw an opportunity in the prototype of the Dino 196 S to create a smaller displacement, road-going model that could, for the first time in Ferrari's history, be built on an assembly line. Pininfarina contributed elegant, classic lines, leading to the development of the Dino 206 GT, which Ferrari engineered with a transverse-mounted engine in the middle. This model evolved into the Dino 246 GT, featuring a larger V6 engine and a wheelbase extended by 60 mm. Despite its longer body, the design remained largely unchanged, with only a lengthened engine cover and repositioned fuel cap. The Dino 246 GT was commercially successful, with three series produced during its lifespan, and when production ceased in 1973-74, demand for the car was still strong.
This reproduction of the Ferrari Dino 206/246 steering wheel, designed by MOMO, who has maintained a close relationship with Ferrari for many years, features a flat, unadorned 3-spoke design with holes and a grip adorned with traditional white stitching.
Ferrari Dino 206/246 steering wheel comes with a Dino horn button but does not include a boss kit, which can be purchased here. Not only can this steering wheel be used as a replacement for the Dino 206/246, but if you have a MOMO boss for your own vehicle, you can install it on any car.
